About OCLC Global Council
Global Council comprises Member Delegates elected by the members within each of the three Regional Councils and serves as a key strategic discussion forum and the major communication link between member libraries, Regional Councils and OCLC. Global Council helps shape the future direction of OCLC and libraries by electing six members to the OCLC Board of Trustees and ratifying amendments to the OCLC Code of Regulations and Articles of Incorporation. The Global Council also discusses interests of mutual concern and makes recommendations to OCLC management and members of the OCLC Board of Trustees. Member Delegates also help to ensure regular and open communication between the Membership and OCLC.

About OCLC Regional Councils

Each of OCLCs three Regional Councils, in cooperation with OCLC, plans at least one in-person Regional Council meeting annually to keep current on issues of vital and immediate interest to members of the OCLC cooperative. Regional Councils also schedule additional virtual or sub-regional meetings as needed. OCLC supports these meetings, where members can participate in discussions, advance ideas and vote on resolutions related to the cooperative. The Regional Councils also elect member representatives from their respective regions, who will contribute to the Regional Council Executive Committee and/or Global Council meetings, committees and additional forums for member input.
