Vrijdag 22 juli is er een optreden van de engelse singer/ song writer Tom Ritchie in muziekcaf� Scooter’S op het Ruiterskwartier 61 te Leeuwarden.

Tom Ritchie is een zeer talent volle singer/ writer die druk is met met maken van mooie eigen liedjes.
Hij heeft een platen contract bij de zelfde platenmaatschapij als Van Velsen.

Tom Ritchie

Meet 25 years old Tom Ritchie, originally from the small town of Hornsea on the
east coast of the United Kingdom. Tom began singing and playing guitar at age
four, and wrote his first song just aged eight.
�I get my voice from my mom and my musical taste from my father who first
introduced me to pop, rock and country music�. Tom�s musical hero�s include
legends like James Taylor, George Strait and Keith Urban.

Tom has spent years of travelling, studying the art of song and performing his
music wherever it takes him. From the shores of the UK to the USA in 2004
where Tom won an award for best new act at the New York film and music
festival. �I didn�t know it then, but I had a long way to go and a lot more to
learn�. Tom returned to the UK with a fresh outlook on music, and continued as
he still does to this day, refining his art.

After a phone call with a friend in early summer 2010, a series of unexpected
and exciting events lead Tom across the North Sea to mainland Europe. Of
course his guitar came with him, and later that summer he signed his first record
deal with highly renowned Dutch record company T2 Entertainment just by
playing a couple of songs during lunch time.
By December he had recorded his first single entitled �Hold On�, a tale of love
and trust, and what it is to really miss someone. �As a musician living in another
country, away from so many family and friends, this song holds a very personal
message for me�

Music has always been Tom�s focus. �Music is the way that I communicate with
people and interact with the world around me. A song is the best way to tell a
story, or send out a message to somebody, in a way that you might not be able
to do during a normal conversation�.
Music is an infinite source of expression for Tom. That�s how Tom writes songs
that capture so much real emotion, that�s how he wrote �Hold On�. These days
Tom takes inspiration from all genres, but especially from country music and
from the songwriters of Nashville, where he dreams of working in the future.
So the journey continues, and whatever the future may have in store for Tom,
this is his journey, his chosen path. A life dedicated to music.
